Long time....No Blog

Sorry to all of our avid readers. I got a call from Shelli this morning that she was going thru Maddie withdrawal so I figured I better post now instead of later. We went to visit Granny and Pup-pup before our trip to Denver, Colorado to visit Scott's family. So the first pictures are from Granny and Pup-Pup's house and the rest are of our trip.

Thank you for all of your prayers. Maddie was an angel on the planes out to Colorado, she slept almost the whole time in both planes. This was the first time most of Scott's family have seen her since they are from out of state so needless to say they were glad to keep her while Scott and I went sight seeing. Uncle Ken should get the world's best baby sitter award since he had her all by himself not once but twice!! I would have to say the two best places we went on our trip were Pike's Peak and Rocky Mountain National Forest. You all know how much I hate heights, when you get to a certain point driving up Pike's Peak there are no guardrails!! But I made it to the top and back down safely!! Rocky Mountain National Forest was great because not only did we get to see Mountains, we also saw elk, marmots, moose and mountain goats!! We took Maddie to the Denver Zoo the day after we went to the National Forest and it just wasn't as exciting, yes there were lots of babies but to see them up close in the wild is so exciting. Maddie slept thru most of her first trip to the zoo, besides the fish because they were bright and up close and she loved them. When we left the aquarium, she fell back to sleep. Here are the photos.....
P.S. Maddie's first tooth came before we left for Denver and we are now getting a second one!!

This was an elk at the Rocky Mountain National Forest, that was at least 1000 yards away from us. He was the biggest elk we saw all day!!

These two were laying right beside the road!!

These two were the best looking animals in the whole park

Are you looking at me?

Yes there was still snow in the mountains

A herd on the side of the road

This guy was all alone

These white blobs were Mountain Goats further away from us than that elk!!
