Our time with the YOUNTS

Well we got home yesterday afternoon from a great trip to Aunt Mandy's and Uncle Daryl's. Although we are a little tired and Maddie has a slight head cold we all had a wonderful time.

We arrived at Mandy's on Thursday afternoon. Scott could only stay a short while since he had to be at the GAP. However, in the short amount of time he was there he became aware of how nutty life can get with children. Sophia was screaming from her crib and Brayden and Savannah were running, playing and wanting attention. The little glimpse of what he has to look forward to threw him for a bit of a loop. After Scott left and Maddie and I were settled in, Mandy had to leave for work. So it was Daryl and I with four kids....:) We all sat down to dinner and with three of the four kids crying we just had to have a little laugh. After dinner Brayden came down to the guest room and read Maddie and me about 10 books before he had to go to bed.

Brayden Boy and Maddie our first night there

Friday came and Mandy and I were home together with the kids. While Brayden and Savannah played outside Mandy and I were able to clean the house up a bit. Then Mandy went out to give the kids a ride in the wagon and let Clay run for awhile. I stayed in since Maddie was asleep and I had to pump. After that we sat down and ate dinner, then hung out at the house for the rest of the evening.

Saturday Brayden went with Daryl to look at lawn mowers. After Mandy and I and the girls all were ready we went to the coffee shop to meet them. Jeff and Andrea were there and got to meet Maddie. We had some lunch and smoothies and then went to Miller's to look at a lawn mower (brush hog) that Daryl liked. Mandy test drove it and I wish I had a picture of her face when they put the mower into high gear and she thought she was going to run into the quads!!

Less than 10 minutes later...

Sunday we woke up and went to church and we were on time! A big accomplishment for all of us! We came home from church, changed our clothes and went down towards Harrisburg to meet up with Scott since he had all of Sunday afternoon free. We ate at Old Country Buffet. Before dinner was over Maddie needed her clothes changed because she exploded in her diaper and it was all up her back! Then when Scott put her in her seat she projectile vomited all over herself. Scott was so grossed out as he stood there and watched and kept saying "Oh that's bad" or "Oh that's really bad." So we changed her clothes again. Since the weather was a little chilly we went to the mall to let Brayden and Savannah run around a bit. We left the mall at 6pm and said goodbye to Scott and headed back to Mandy's. On the way home Maddie was hungry so she got her bottle and when I took her out of her seat an hour later her clothes were soaked from the bottle leaking so I had to change her clothes for the FOURTH time!! Daryl had an Easter Egg hunt with Brayden and Savannah shortly after we came home (I had brought Easter Eggs that we did not use up with me). They were so excited!

Monday came and Maddie and I had to say goodbye. Scott came and picked us up and after he and Daryl talked about their collection of guns for awhile we hit the road. Maddie was so good for the ride home until we were about to meet Dolores then she was fussy. Not only because she was hungry but because she was soaked. We met Dolores near Clarion because Scott had to be at a G -RAP event that night. Before we changed cars I changed Maddie's clothes and got a bottle ready for her. She fell right back to sleep for the rest of the trip home. Max and Beau were so happy to see Maddie and me. When Scott got home that evening the boys went nuts!! Since Scott, Maddie and I had been apart for several days we decided to keep her in bed with us last night to snuggle. Needless to say she had no complaints at all!! Max and Beau also joined us sometime throughout the evening.

P.S Mandy will be sending me more pictures that I will upload onto here later

Highlights of our trip:

1. Brayden came down while I was pumping one time and before I could cover up and send him upstairs, he told me my boobs looked like a gun shooting bullets!

2. Mandy test driving the lawn mower

3. Scott watching Maddie vomit in a state of shock and horror and just kept saying "Oh that's bad, That's really bad."

4. Maddie getting sick Sunday night and having to aspirate her nose all night long.

5. Getting to spend some time with family and making some great memories!

Thanks for a great time guys!! We look forward to seeing you all again really soon! We love you very much!!

Prayer Requests: Please pray that Maddie gets over this cold soon. she is being a wonderful baby even though she isn't feeling well. Also pray that the results of Scott's physical he took on Monday all come back fine so that way he is still eligible for flight school.

ROAD TRIP!!!

Scott, Maddie and I will be taking a road trip tomorrow to AUNT MANDY AND UNCLE DARYL'S!! Can you tell that we are excited?? Maddie and I will be staying with Mandy and Daryl and Scott will be staying at the GAP for training and a physical. Pray that his physical goes well. If he passes his test today and his physical he is eligible for flight school which will keep him out of Iraq for at least another two years. Also pray for traveling mercies for us and that God will bless our time together with family.
We will also be celebrating Maddie's 1 month birthday on Thursday! My how time flies!! I can't believe she is going to be 1 month old already! It seems like just yesterday that she was born.
Got to go and pack for our trip and the little woman is waking up.

A Busy Week for Maddie

This week started out busy for all of us. Scott had to go to the Gap from Monday- Thursday (14-17) and Maddie and I packed up and headed for Granny and Pup-Pup's. While there Maddie and I did not spend one full day at home, she is so popular we had so many people to visit. Monday afternoon when we got there was spent at the house so Granny, Pup-Pup and Aunt Angie (and lets not forget HB) could love on her. Tuesday we went to Granny's school to see Corrine, Jen and numerous others. Granny loved showing off her little munchkin!! I don't think I ever heard Granny make so many noises when she talked about Maddie in all my life (sighs, and oooohhhhs). After we left there we went back to Granny's and Pup-Pup's for the night. Then Wednesday we went to Nemacolin to see all the girls and then to the beauty shop for me to get my hair done. Then we went to Duke's to see Angie at work and wow was the food FABULOUS!! Thursday we spent most of the day with Angie, she kept Maddie while I packed up the truck for the trip home. Then Maddie and I made a quick stop to see Aunt Peep and Uncle Tim.

It was so good to see Scott when we got home after not seeing him for several days!! Friday Scott stayed home and he and Grandma kept Maddie while I took Max to see Rosie (our dog groomer). This is not always a good experience since Max typically bites and hates getting clipped. However, he only tried to bite her once and was overall a very good boy. Beau also got a bath from Scott and after their traumatizing experiences they found comfort snuggling in bed together.

Saturday we took Maddie and headed for Cabela's for Scott to purchase his new hunting rifle with his points. She was so well behaved and I was told by several people not only how cute she was, but how we are "starting her off right by bringing her to Cabela's." I laughed and thought we really are in West Virginia!! Saturday night Grandpa got to keep her by himself for a few hours while Scott and I went out with some friends. When we came home Maddie was quite content with Grandma in bed so that is where she stayed all night long.

Swinging Away....

Yesterday was Maddie's first time in her swing and at first she didn't know what to think of this vibrating and swinging contraption. But after a few minutes the little woman was loving it. She even took a nap in it. Today she went into her swing happily however she woke up an hour later soaked and covered in POOP!! So needless to say it was straight to the tub for her. The swing cover will also need to be washed since it was soaked with pee as well.

Thursday night was the first time Scott and I left her for a few hours. We ran to Pittsburgh Mills to buy me some pants and to go out to dinner. At first I hated leaving her but after awhile I realized I needed that little break and it was great to spend some quality time with Scott and not worry about Maddie waking up or needing something. We were only gone about 3 or 4 hours but I felt so refreshed and relaxed and was so excited to come home to the little munchkin!! :)

Keep Maddie, Scott and I in your thoughts and prayers starting Monday through Thursday because Scott has to go to the GAP for training and this will be the longest we have all been apart since she was born and needless to say we are all dreading it. However, that gives Maddie and I a few days to go down and spend with Granny and Pup-Pup and I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to that!!

Back home again after a great weekend

We are back home again after spending the night at Granny and Pup-Pup Todaro's house and I must admit that it depressed me a little to be leaving their house so soon. Maddie and I had such a great time while we were there. But, Scott was very happy to have us home and it was so good to see him again even though we were only apart for one night. He also surprised me by deciding to take today off to be with his lady and his little girl.

We arrived early afternoon on Sunday, just as Granny and Pup-Pup got home from church. From there we went to Brunswick Bowling lanes to meet all the Todaro's for a family outing. Maddie slept through most of it, but woke up for some Aunt Angie and Granny loving. We made a quick stop at DQ on the way home for me, Granny and Pup-Pup. I was planning on going to bingo with Aunt Angie that night but decided to stay in and relax for the evening. Granny and I got to spend some quality time together while I pumped and she loved on Maddie. Before we went to bed I asked if she would be going to work and she said that she had to because she didn't have very many days left. So I planned on spending the day with just Maddie and Pup-Pup.

Colby and Aunt Angie with Maddie at Brunswick

However, when I woke up the next morning Granny, Aunt Angie and Pup-Pup were all in one bed and ready to spend the entire day with Maddie!! So Maddie and I crawled into bed too and wow were we ever crowded!!

It was great getting to spend a couple of days with my family and watching them with my little girl. It still amazes me sometimes that I am a mom now!! I love holding her close and breathing in her little baby smell and having her fall asleep on my chest. I love watching her discover new things everyday and develop her own little personality. I thank god daily for blessing Scott and I with this wonderful little person in our lives.

Our Big weekend trip

Thursday was Maddie's first trip to the mall with Mommy and Daddy. Mommy had to get nursing bras and Maddie got a new outfit. Daddy and Maddie also went shopping for Mommy's first Mother's Day present at Kay Jewelers, I can't wait to see what I got!! Then we went to the Texas Roadhouse and Maddie was a huge hit!! She was so well behaved throughout the whole dinner she slept on my lap.
Yesterday Gram and Pap Croyle went to the Meadows so Maddie and I had the house to ourselves. It was so nice to have some alone time all to myself with my little one. However, I learned how hard it is to get things done without help being around (showering, pumping, laundry, etc). When Scott got home it was so nice to get to cuddle in bed as a family and just to bond and get to know each other better. Maddie really has Scott wrapped around her little finger already. I have to make sure that her Daddy's girl onesie is always washed because he wants her to wear it all the time.
Last night was a pretty good night for Maddie, she only woke me twice and fell right back to sleep after she ate (praise the Lord)!! I think she is finally figuring out her nights and days! Scott has drill this weekend so Maddie and I are heading for Granny and Pup-Pup Todaro's house tomorrow morning for her first overnight. We both our looking forward to our little trip. Please keep us in prayer as this is the first time that we will be traveling without Scott, so I am a little apprehensive. This will also be Maddie's and my first night without Scott since she was born so that will also be a small adjustment.
Today Aunt Margurite is coming up for her first visit since Maddie has been home from the hospital. Aunt Margurite's friend Sue will also be joining her. Then it will be time to pack Maddie's and my bag for our trip and to get Scott's stuff ready for his overnight in Erie as well.

Maddie's First Bath

Yesterday was Maddie's second doctor's visit and our little piglet gained nine ounces in five days and is back up to birth weight (6lbs 12 1/2 oz)! Praise the Lord!!

Today Scott stayed home from work to spend an extra little quality time with the two women in his life. So we decided since her cord fell off yesterday that it was time for her first real bath. Scott thought she would hate it at first, but when we laid her down in the warm water she loved it!! Today will also be her first walk outside and her first trip to the mall (which I am sure will be the first of many for this little princess)! Here are some pictures of her first bath and I will try and update later of her first walk with mom, dad, Max and Beau, if the boys will behave and let me get some pictures!

This site will be all about......MADISON

Well as mostly all of you know Scott and I recently became parents of a beautiful baby GIRL!! We named her Madison Marie Croyle. She weighed in at 6lbs 12 oz and was 19 inches long.

We went into the hospital for me to be induced on Easter Sunday. They started inducing at around 11pm and Scott and I were told to get some rest. Everyone started arriving at about 9am the next morning. My parents, Scott's parents and sister, my sister Ang and Colby, my friend Steph and my sister Mandy and her three kids. So needless to say we had quite a group of people. I let everyone come in and out of the roomfor the first few hours, then when Mandy arrived I made everyone clear out so Mandy, Scott and I could focus on my labor and delivery.

Things were going fine and I thought I was progressing really well until my labor stalled at 7 cm for about an hour and a half, at that point with the encouragment of Scott and Mandy I opted for the epidural. Keep in mind that I am very needle phobic and they were not going to let Scott stay in the room with me, but with a little convincing from my labor nurse they let him stay. I thought the pain of the epidural would have been much worse but I was so busy dealing with contractions I didn't even feel it. At about 7:30 pm Kristin (my doctor) came in to check me because I said I was feeling a lot of pressure and she said I was at 10 cm and that she wanted me to labor down for about an hour. So I visited with everyone who came down and then at 8:30 pm I was ready to start pushing.

Orignally they were just suppose to be practice pushes, but they quickly turned into the real thing. All I remember (besides the pain) is Mandy's voice getting louder and louder the more she could see Maddie's head and then I looked at Scott's face just as her head came out and I thought his eyes were going to pop out of his head they got so big!! Then he topped it off by mouthing WOW!!

When they put Maddie on me right after she was born I can't even describe the love and happiness I felt towards this little person. Maddie is truly a blessing from God in my life and I thank him daily for giving her to me and Scott. She has changed our lives and made our bond and love for each other even stronger than it was before. I can't believe it has already been a week since she was born, now I know what Mandy, Shelli and my Mom felt like when they said, "Time flies and they grow up so fast."

Here are some pictures of Maddie they day she was born, the couple of days in the hospital, when she came home, and some taken this morning.
